Problems with an action replay?

So I was going through some stuff today and found my old GBA action replay and I decided to use some cheats to send over some of the special event only Pokeon to my newer game (I don't really feel this is cheating when Nintendo makes Pokemon available for a limited time players had to find other ways of obtaining these Pokemon.) Anyway I started it up and recieved a message that told me I needed to restore my Action Replay to factory settings, after doing so I found out that every code that was on my Action Replay including the ones that came downloaded on it had been removed, so I went on the website that the manual said to go to for codes and entered the Mastercode for Pokemon Fire Red onto my Action Replay but every time I turn it on I get a message that says that I have no saved codes for my Pokemon Fire Red. What should I do?
